Buddha's smile (charcoal, 22"×15").

For me peace is best symbolized by a Buddha visage. Content, meditative, subtly smiling. Relished bringing out the expression evoked by the eyes, the smile, and the tilak.

Monk (oil on canvas, 22"×30").

Sometimes darkness gives you peace. When you want some positiveness, you may first go to the dark. From there you can see all things you wish to see enlightened. Darkness per se is not negative. It shows the way to the positive.

Mother (22" x 30", charcoal with soft pastel).

My humble tribute to a most loving mother!
Happy Mother's Day!

Soar! (oil on canvas, 30”x 30”)

The sea, the breeze, the horizon, and the sky make all of us aspire to take wings and soar!
The elements there seem to converge. The rocks have their own personalitiesunfazed by the lashing waves.(Photo courtesy; Nidhi).

Bird of paradise (18”x24”)

Both the birds of paradise – the flower as well as the plumed beauty – come across so exquisite the transport one to a world of natural beauty and bliss and one is left praying for the planet.

Street Urchin (15"×21", oil on canvas)

Forced to face a deprived life the street urchin fearlessly stares back at life. Hard lessons learnt early on; the eyes radiate daring, hope, defiance - even anger. Sending a reminder to society's conscience.(Photo courtesy: Instgram)

...

Lion King (oil on canvas, 24"×18")

Enjoyed bringing out the gaze and the expression of someone unmistakably regal.

Manisha's Canvas

Most kids now grow in nuclear families and grandparents hardly get to share their experiences. The work shows the kids do need their company. In fact both deserve each other!

...

Bonding III (24”x18”)

A baby personifies the parents’ mutual love and eternally bonds them!

...

Roles (oil on canvas, 36"×23")

The incredibly blessed human life - it gives us so many roles to play!

...

Rain of light (28”x24”, white pencil on paper)

Rain has always been my favourite weather. I found this picture amzing as I’ve never seen anyone reading when it’s raining. What if the light is also raining with monsoon! Light comes through every drop of water. Even the book illuminates! If you wish to read and learn, illumination can come from everywhere, everything!

Black-naped monarch couple(18”x15”, water colour on canvas paper)

Most bird species are mates for life. They are the living symbols of love, not just messengers of peace and nature conservation. (Photo credit: Facebook)

Müse (22"×30", coloured pencil)

Truly enjoyed the emotions making it, especially getting lost in creating each frill and fold of the colour-rich costume, each crack of the dilapidated wall, the face and the body expressions, the comely leg, the instruments. The internet picture literally forced me to pick it up as a challenge of a journey - the medium included!
May return to the 'Müse'to further enrich it, just couldn't wait to share!

An iora pair (water colour, 20"×15")

Spring is the most beautiful as it brings out the best in avifauna! (Reference photo courtesy Jyoti Ahlawat.)

Dances with colours (oil on canvas, 3

Let's have 'dances with colours' to celebrate life!
Happy Holi!

...

Baba (charcoal, 22"×22")

This one was a challenge in terms of details and expression and I am satisfied I could at least follow the basics. The hair, the worn out jacket, the unkempt hands with accessories were a delight to create. The biggest charm is the smile in the eyes!
