Sharbat (coloured pencil, 24''x21'')

The girl's expressive eyes and hands were a delightful challenge to accomplish. The tone of the picture is bright and optimistic despite the apparent hard life of the subject. Based on a picture of a refugee Afghan girl name Sharbat by the world-famous portrait photographer Steve McCurry.

White (oil on canvas, 18"×24")

White isn't absence of colour, it's the presence of all the colours. Nothing adorns a lady more than white. The spectrum of her life begins with white. All colours may come and go, white stays. Like soul - unchanged, unblemished. She can return to it, seek solace in it - whenever life's overwhelming.
A bit of mystery helps.

Bonding (oil on canvas, 12"×16")

Another year together!
Glad to share my latest creation: 'Bonding' (oil on canvas, 12"×16"). This one was a challenge in terms of details and expression and I am satisfied I could at least follow the basics.

Bonding II (charcoal, 12"×14")

A media picture inspired the work - second in a series ('Bonding') - in which the texture of the experience-rich wrinkled skin and the stick was a delightful challenge to bring out.
